Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.

What this blog is for:

My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

Man who suffered stroke not given treatment because it was 'outside hospital office hours'

If we had ANY COMPETENCE AT ALL in the stroke medical world, they would have 100% recovery protocols regardless of presentation to the hospital. They would have figured out EXACTLY HOW TO CREATE NEUROPLASTICITY AND NEUROGENESIS ON DEMAND!

Leaders would create and execute a strategy for 100% recovery for all! Yeah, that is a BHAG(Big Hairy Audacious or (Assed) Goal, but leaders tackle such goals that survivors want! Are you leaders or not? Hospital leadership completely failed this person. The incompetent board of directors needs to be fired!

Man who suffered stroke not given treatment because it was 'outside hospital office hours'

A man who had a stroke says he has been left immobile after he failed to get the right treatment - because it happened outside hospital "office hours".

Graham McGowan, 53, claims the time he fell ill prevented him from accessing much-needed care.

He suffered a stroke and was rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI) to seek urgent treatment.

Doctors carried out a brain scan which revealed a blood clot and they advised he should be treated with a thrombectomy - a procedure to remove blood clots in a large artery.

However, Graham, from Aboyne, Scotland, was told he would be unable to receive the procedure, because he arrived at hospital outside "office hours" at 9pm.

Sadly, ARI's closest specialist thrombectomy hub, in Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, only offers the procedure from 9am-7pm, Monday to Friday.

Graham, a former performance improvement consultant, trail runner and skier, was instead treated at ARI with thrombolysis, a drug which is used to try to disperse clots and help restore the blood supply to the brain.

Graham remains totally immobile on his left side, and is sharing his story in an attempt to raise awareness of the importance of 24/7 access to thrombectomy services in Scotland.
