Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.

What this blog is for:

My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

National Stroke Association Launches Interactive Nutrition Portal FoodSmarts?

This might be good for some people and stroke is listed as a selection criteria. But there is nothing here that I can see that gives an overall picture of what your post-stroke diet protocol should look like. If you don't know that you can't even search properly. So I would have to say this is another failure where the NSA isn't talking to the right stroke survivors. Once again they are talking about reducing stroke risk rather than helping stroke recovery. Once again, we have jackshit leaders, WAITING FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM
The problem is; 'How do you get to 100% recovery?' It's a simple question. Solve the hard answer.
These are my ideas. Don't listen to them, they are not clinically proven.

What would a post-stroke diet look like?

FoodSmarts℠, an interactive nutrition portal, was launched today by National Stroke Association. FoodSmarts℠ provides personalized nutrition guidance on recipes, grocery store items and local restaurants to help in choosing foods that will help reduce risk for stroke.
FoodSmarts℠ is designed to help people manage all of their nutritional needs in a simple, easy-to-use tool. Users log in and create a profile that includes their various food preferences and health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and/or stroke disease. Healthy eating habits are critical for those who have stroke, and are key in preventing stroke.
The platform allows users to search for recipes, ingredients and effectively plan meals that fit their personal nutrition needs. Recipes, packaged foods and national restaurant chain dishes will be easily identified as appropriate or inappropriate choices for each individual, based on his or her unique profile. Users can also add their own recipes, build shopping lists and create a personalized recipe box. FoodSmarts℠ includes a database of recipes and restaurant dishes that are all analyzed for each individual.
"It can be challenging to find the right foods to fit  every individual's dietary needs and that is why  we are excited to expand our resources with this tool to help stroke survivors, their families as well as the thousands who are at risk for stroke simplify the process," said Anna Taylor, Director, Awareness and Professional Programs, National Stroke Association.  "
FoodSmarts℠ is accessible online at foodsmarts.stroke.org as well as via a mobile app. Online accounts sync with the mobile app, which is available in the iPhone, and Google Play stores. Through a partnership with FoodCare®, Registered Dietitians are able to provide advanced nutrition guidance to make using FoodSmarts℠ even more personalized.
