Park KY, et al. - The target herein was to investigate the rise in
plasma levels of glycogen phosphorylase BB (GPBB) isoform, among
patients with acute ischaemic stroke (AIS). A robust response was
illustrated by GPBB, with regard to acute ischaemia and high sensitivity
for small infarcts. GPBB could be beneficial as a stand-alone marker
for acute brain ischaemia if the results were affirmed in more diverse
populations including stroke mimics.
