Dear Friend, National Stroke Association is continuing our collaboration with the Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer Alliance as part of the Fibs or Facts educational campaign. Comedian, game show host, and Fibs or Facts spokesperson Howie Mandel—who lives with atrial fibrillation (AFib) not caused by a heart valve problem—is continuing to raise awareness of this condition by challenging people to take the Fibs or Facts quiz to learn about the connection between AFib, blood clots, and the associated increased risk of stroke. Did you know that AFib not caused by heart valve problem is a type of irregular heartbeat that affected approximately 6.4 million Americans in 2014? AFib not caused by a heart valve problem puts people at a five times greater risk of stroke than people who do not have this condition. In fact, 15 percent of strokes are due to AFib. Take this updated quiz and not only will you test your knowledge about AFib and related stroke risk, but you can help raise up to $30,000 for National Stroke Association! For each person that completes the quiz, the Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer Alliance will donate $1 to National Stroke Association, up to $30,000. Since the launch of this campaign in 2013, $35,000 has been raised for National Stroke Association. Help us reach this year’s goal of $30,000 by simply taking the quiz. Don’t forget to share this email with your family and friends! Take the Fibs or Facts quiz with Howie Mandel. Sincerely, Matt Lopez CEO |
