Hu EA, et al. - The association between coffee consumption and incident chronic kidney disease (CKD) was studied among participants aged 45 to 64 years from the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) Study. A lower risk for incident CKD was observed in participants who drank higher amounts of coffee, after adjusting for covariates. Coffee consumers may not be at adverse risk for kidney disease.
