Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.

What this blog is for:

My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

The Colorado Neurological Institute Receives Major Grant to Expand Neurological Rehabilitation Services with State-of-the-Art Equipment

Equipment is not the answer. Do you not know that rehab only fully works 10% of the time? And you are wasting money on equipment?

Englewood, CO – The Colorado Neurological Institute (CNI) announced today that it has received a $50,000 grant from the Daniels Fund to support its Vollbracht NeuroHealth and Wellness Center thru the purchase of neurological rehabilitation equipment.
“We are thrilled to receive this grant, as it will enable us to provide more options for our patients,” says CNI’s Executive Director, Tami Lack Crawford. “The Daniels Fund is supporting the mission and programs offered at CNI, along with our efforts to expand our service area further into the community.”
The Colorado Neurological Institute provides out-patient neurological rehabilitation, clinical research, and supportive services to those living with a neurological condition. Established in 1988, CNI has been an important neurological resource in the Colorado region for 30 years, serving people diagnosed with conditions such as ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s Disease), Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Huntington’s Disease, neuropathy, dystonia, stroke, migraines, and other neurological conditions.
Crawford says, “Baby boomers are aging, but they are also living longer, so we are seeing an increase in the number of people living with neurological conditions. We are working to redefine our brand and our scope to meet these needs in a rapidly changing healthcare market”. To this end, CNI has recently added the title “Center for Neurological Innovation,” and has begun partnerships with several national agencies to provide services beyond the Rocky Mountain Region.
The Daniel’s Fund grant will allow neuro patients access to state-of-the-art equipment such as the NuStep recumbent cross trainer, a low-impact, full-body cardio and strength training machine safe for patients with neurological disorders, and the Bioness L300 a system to help people with certain neurological conditions walk with increased speed and improved balance thru programmed, low-level electrical stimulation for nerve activation. “The Wellness Center has been in need of this equipment for a long time, and we believe having it will attract more neurological patients to CNI, where they will receive the professional neuro rehab they need for improved quality of life. We are so honored that the Daniel’s Fund recognized CNI with this grant,” says Ellen Belle, MA, PT director of Patient Services.
The Daniels Fund, established by cable television pioneer Bill Daniels, is a private charitable
foundation dedicated to making life better for the people of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and
