I don't care how well you perform the status quo. The status quo is a complete fucking failure:
Look at the 10% almost full recovery rate as noted in the NSA report of 2009.
Or the complete success rate of tPA of only 12%.
To get better at stroke recovery neuroplasticity will need to be made repeatable on demand. I don't care that Dr. Michael.Tymianski@uhn.ca has stated that 1000+ neuroprotective trials have failed.
The next thing is to make neurogenesis repeatable on demand.
Yes these are BHAGs(Big Hairy Audacious Goals) . but so what. That is what a great stroke association would be solving for.
And what great neurologists would be demanding.
If there are any great stroke doctors out there, they are hiding and not publicly discussing what needs to be done to solve all the problems in stroke.
Right now our stroke doctors should not be paid a cent for such appalling failures. That might focus the stroke hospitals to actually start solving stroke problems.
Once again not following Dale Carnegie; 'How to Win Friends and Influence People'.
Use the labels in the right column to find what you want. Or you can go thru them one by one, there are only 29,120 posts. Searching is done in the search box in upper left corner. I blog on anything to do with stroke.DO NOT DO ANYTHING SUGGESTED HERE AS I AM NOT MEDICALLY TRAINED, YOUR DOCTOR IS, LISTEN TO THEM. BUT I BET THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET YOU 100% RECOVERED. I DON'T EITHER, BUT HAVE PLENTY OF QUESTIONS FOR YOUR DOCTOR TO ANSWER.
Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.
