Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.

What this blog is for:

My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

Why is sleeping on the right side important for us?

Ask your doctor which is more important clearing your brain or the problem of stroke risk. I sleep a lot on my right side since my left side is affected and the left arm doesn't have a good  way to relax and get out of the way.

JFK Johnson Rehabilitation suggests that side sleeping may increase risk of stroke

Why is sleeping on the right side important for us?

How sleep position affects brain health It is common for experts to talk about the importance of good sleep hygiene, which includes regular bedtimes and waking up times, aromatherapy before bed, natural melatonin supplements to help you fall asleep and improve sleep, and increasingly, they emphasize sleeping on your side for brain health. As you sleep on your side, you can better facilitate glymphatic cleansing (the removal of waste products from the metabolism of brain tissue through the network of glymphatic vessels in your brain; G - glial cells + lymphatic vessels).Additionally, it has been shown that sleeping on the right side promotes this cleansing process. An article published in the journal Brain Sciences in 2020 found that glymphatic transport is most efficient when a person sleeps on their right side, with more cerebrospinal fluid being cleared than if he or she slept on their back or stomach.According to the study, adopting this sleeping position may help maintain normal brain health during aging and lower the risk of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's.Sleeping and adaptationWe seem to have adapted the sleeping position to effectively clear our brains of metabolic waste products that accumulate while we are awake, so the side-sleeping position is already the most popular for humans and most animals — even in the wild. As well as preventing snoring, sleeping on your side makes your back and shoulders more comfortable. In addition to the fact that sleeping on the right side is important, we are aware of how important sleep itself is for our health. Quality SettingsWe don't need studies for such a thing. After a sleepless night or a bad dream, we all feel tired, exhausted and depressed. A bad dream will "spoil" our whole day. In addition, our concentration, focus and mental fitness lose their strength. It is necessary to make an effort to have a good son, to be rested, since this is the guarantee of a happy and successful day.
