Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.

What this blog is for:

My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

Enough NCDs! Enough Stroke!

I see absolutely nothing here that even remotely suggests that there is any strategy and leadership that will solve all the problems in stroke.

This is just puffery, no one is taking responsibility.  The WSO has no leadership role that I have ever seen in stroke.

What fucking laziness and trying to run away from responsibility. WSO, stroke is in your name, that usually means YOU are responsible. I guess you are NO leader and would rather just sit on the sidelines, crying that governments and private entities need to solve stroke. Fuck, get the hell out of the way and let some leaders run your organization.

Enough NCDs! Enough Stroke!

In a few weeks world leaders will gather at the UN HLM in New York to review progress toward their commitment to reduce premature deaths from NCDs by 30% by 2030.
The World Stroke Organization, along with our partners in the NCD Alliance, has been active in advocating for increased awareness, access and action on NCD and stroke prevention. Our leadership recently made a statement as part of the UN preparations for the UN HLM which you can read elsewhere on this blog. Wow, ALL HAT AND NO CATTLE, get the hell out of the way and let some real leaders run things. No action verbs anywhere in here.

From September 3rd, the WSO is getting behind the Enough NCDs Week of Action and advocating for urgent action on stroke prevention and treatment as a mechanism to achieve global health and development goals.

We have had enough of slow progress and failed promises on stroke prevention and treatment and we know that our impatience is shared by stroke survivors, caregivers, support and professional organisations around the world.
To add your voice to ours and to increase the pressure on our leaders to take stroke seriously we are calling on the stroke community to get involved in the campaign. Our Enough Stroke! Enough NCDs Campaign Brief provides background information and resources including suggested tweets and Facebook posts to help you put stroke at the centre of the NCD debate.
Other things you can do
  • Check out the campaign resources that can complement your stroke messaging available from NCD Alliance campaign website.
  • Find out if your local NCD Alliance has any on the ground activities planned and mobilise stroke supporters to get involved.

Have you had enough? World Stroke Organization question

Yeah, World Stroke Organization you are the problem, because you are not leading anything in stroke. And focusing on prevention is the lazy thing to do.
The youtube video on this; https://youtu.be/yS7YY11kOXI?list=PLfW7lTVOaF8Hps3dwWcQ9ythIqXYZTx1d

Yes, I've had enough of the WSO doing nothing to solve any of the problems in stroke. They are being the laziest fuckers on earth by tossing their responsibility back to the general public.  They have defined their responsibility wrong, they took the easy way out, prevention press releases rather than setting a stroke strategy and following that strategy thru to success.

Have you had enough of failed promises from leaders who have committed to take ‘real action’ to tackle stroke? Enough of not being listened to about your experience of stroke, or why it’s so important to prevent it? Enough of lots of talk but not a lot of investment or outcomes? So have we!

As Supporting Members of the NCD Alliance, WSO is supporting the global campaign to make sure that our leaders show up and stand up to NCDs and stroke at the UNHigh Level Meeting on Non-Communicable Diseases, taking place this September in New York.

The UN meeting will review progress towards the goal of reducing premature deaths by 30% by 2030, a goal that member states committed to but since have done very little to address. The UN Secretary General recently published a paper which made clear his frustration and mounting impatience over lack of real action to address one of the biggest single challenges for global development in the 21st Century.  He notes that 138 governments have demonstrated ‘very poor, or no progress towards their time bound commitments’, adding that ‘the world has yet to fulfil its promise of implementing measures to risk the risk of dying prematurely from non-communicable diseases.’

We agree and think it is time for our leaders to get serious about NCDs. We are standing together with our partners and asking that governments:

WSO members, partners, stroke survivors and families can all be part of the advocacy effort. Here are some of the things you can do:
  • Follow and share messages on social media #enoughNCDs
  • Add your stroke voice to the campaign you can visit the Enough campaign website to share your views
  • Write to your government ministers calling for their participation in the UN High Level Meeting
  • Get together with allies and organizations that you can work with collaboratively to advocate for action on NCDs
  • Host an event and help lead the fight against NCDs.
