Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.

What this blog is for:

My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

Abstract Submission for WSC(World Stroke Congress) 2021. The World Stroke Congress wiil be held online, 28-29 October 2021

You can see immediately that they don't give a shit about survivors, no way to apply without becoming a member. I'm certainly not supporting them in any way since they do nothing for survivors.   I'm being just somewhat arrogant  in the following, but arrogance only exists if you don't have knowledge of what you are talking about. I have that knowledge.

I sent this message to them:

Message: How does a person become a patient voice presenter at the World Stroke Congress? Just maybe you want to listen to me; author of Deans' Stroke Musings. There is a lot wrong in stroke and you're not addressing any of it.
Dean Reinke

Their response:

Thank you for your email and please accept apologies for the delay of my response.

I’d like to kindly invite you to send further information regarding your speech and your CV, so that the Congress Planning committee can take your idea into consideration.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My reply:

MY CV is very simple. No medical background, stroke survivor for 15 years, ischemic stroke on right side. Just possibly I know what I'm talking about, I write the blog; Deans' Stroke Musings with  4,940,053 views and  21,761 posts   Your use of CV for survivors already implies you have the same mindset as Amy Farber once remarked about;

For the past five years Farber has been battling not only her own disease but also the wall of resistance erected by those who believe that a patient can make about as much of a meaningful contribution to the process of scientific discovery as a laboratory rat.

Current disabilities; spasticity screwing up my walking, extremely little use of left hand.

I'm trying to follow with David deBronkart, better known as “e-patient Dave,” footsteps where he has been advocating patient presentations at medical conferences.

Since the WHO states that 1 in 4 will have a stroke you better hope that my crusade for 100% recovery takes hold. The talk will be on what can be done to get  to 100% recovery.  Read my blog, there are thousands of things that can be done to get closer to that if we create a stroke strategy and the leadership to run that strategy to completion.  In person would be much better so I can disabuse your participants that they will all recover as well as Jill Bolte-Taylor.

No reply to that.
