Page 31. A stoic attitude - serenity in the face of a setback - can also help keep you young.
I'm definitely serene, especially after just coming back from the Buddhist nation of Bhutan.
Page 38. Desire to have a meaningful life.
My meaningful life is to have fun, that's enough meaning for me.

I've given up on stroke rehab because there are NO protocols to follow. Way too difficult to solve stroke on your own.

Since your doctor has completely failed at your recovery maybe Buddhism or stoicism can get you thru the hard life ahead.
Page 184-5 Ten rules of Ikigai:
- Stay active; don't retire. Many of the world's longest-lived people work well into their 80's and 90's or don't retire. ...Nope, not for me
- Take it slow. ... Retirement is all about taking it slow.
- Don't fill your stomach. ... I have to work on this some more
- Surround yourself with good friends. ... I have lots of them.
- Get in shape for your next birthday. ... Working on it
- Smile. ... People who just meet me comment that I'm smiling and happy all the time.
- Reconnect with nature. ... I do forest bathing several times a week.
- Give thanks. I'm thankful my stroke was the best thing to happen to me.
