Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.

What this blog is for:

My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

Holyoke Medical Center honored nationally for top stroke care

This is the whole problem in stroke enumerated in one word; 'care'; NOT RECOVERY!

If your hospital is touting 'care' it means they are a failure because they are delivering 'care'; NOT RECOVERY! I would never go to a failed hospital!

YOU have to get involved and change this failure mindset of 'care' to 100% RECOVERY! Survivors want RECOVERY, NOT 'CARE'!

I see nothing here that states going for 100% recovery! You need to create EXACT PROTOCOLS FOR THAT!

ASK SURVIVORS WHAT THEY WANT, THEY'LL NEVER RESPOND 'CARE'! This tyranny of low expectations has to be completely rooted out of any stroke conversation! I wouldn't go there because of such incompetency as not having 100% recovery protocols!

RECOVERY IS THE ONLY GOAL IN STROKE!

GET THERE!'

Holyoke Medical Center honored nationally for top stroke care

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Holyoke Medical Center (HMC) has been nationally recognized for its high-quality stroke care(NOT RECOVERY!) once again.

HMC has received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus Award, the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Award, and the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll Award. The center has been recognized with Get With The Guidelines Stroke awards since 2007.

Stroke remains the fifth cause of death and disability in the United States. It occurs when a blood vessel in the brain is either blocked by a clot or bursts, preventing oxygen and nutrients from reaching brain cells. Early intervention is crucial for minimizing the long-term impact of a stroke, including death and severe disability. The awards reflect HMC’s commitment to rapid stroke treatment, which is key to improving patient outcomes.

Get With The Guidelines helps to put the expertise of the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association to work for hospitals nationwide, ensuring patient care(NOT RECOVERY!) is aligned with the latest research and evidence-based guidelines. Get With The Guidelines – Stroke is an in-hospital program that helps to improve stroke care(NOT RECOVERY!) by promoting consistent adherence to these guidelines, which can minimize the long-term effects of a stroke and can even prevent death.

The center met specific criteria to reduce the time between an eligible patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment with thrombolytic therapy to qualify for the American Heart Association’s Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite award. The Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll award aims to make sure patients with Type 2 diabetes receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care(NOT RECOVERY!) when hospitalized due to stroke.

HMC continues to lead in the field of stroke care(NOT RECOVERY!), providing life-saving treatments and educating patients to improve long-term health outcomes.(You're not a leader if you're focusing on care(NOT RECOVERY!))
