Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.

What this blog is for:

My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

Clinical trials show that the Mercy Health mobile stroke unit is effective

Your definition of effective is not what stroke survivors would say. 100% recovery is effective. You just happen to be a complete failure in that regard since you're not even measuring it.

Business 101: If you don't measure it, it is not important, so obviously 100% recovery is not important.

“What's measured, improves.” So said management legend and author Peter F. Drucker

Clinical trials show that the Mercy Health mobile stroke unit is effective

Toledo, Ohio — A clinical trial of Mercy Health’s mobile stroke unit proved to be effective in reducing stroke damage.(You are using your tyranny of low expectations to justify having the wrong goal in stroke rehab. Contrary to everything your stroke survivor wants!)

A national clinical trial recently published by the American Heart Association International Stroke Conference showed that a mobile stroke unit helped patients reduce their disability and recover better in 90 days. Mercy has been providing special stroke treatment since 2016.

The study concluded that for every 100 patients treated by the mobile stroke unit team, rather than standard care, 27 had less disability and 11 had no disability.

“This study is a testament to our ministry’s commitment to providing superior care to the community with state-of-the-art technology,” said Dr. Sam Zaidat, a neurovascular surgeon and director of the Mercy Health Neuroscience Institute. .. “This study concluded that the outcome of stroke patients treated with MSU-loaded intravenous tPA was superior to those waiting for bolus and infusion in ED.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, stroke is the fifth leading cause of death in the United States and continues to be the leading cause of long-term disability. Stroke occurs when blood vessels in the brain are blocked and cells are deprived of oxygen.
