Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.

What this blog is for:

My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

Franciscan Health Hosting Stroke Camp in May

Needing to do this just PROVES THEIR COMPLETE FUCKING FAILURE AT 100% RECOVERY! I would never go to a failed hospital! There are no excuses for such a crapola hospital! Of course, you won't find any decent hospitals for stroke anywhere in the world, not a single one is touting 100% recovery!

ok away his ability to walk for a while.

Thanks to his perseverance and the rehab team at Franciscan Health Lafayette East, he learned to walk again. He now walks five miles a day as part of a mall walkers’ group.

Another key component to his recovery has been attending Franciscan Health Stroke Camp, an event supported by the Franciscan Health Stroke Center.

Franciscan Stroke Camp this year is set for May 29-31 at Higher Ground Conference & Retreat Center in West Harrison, Ind.

Higher Ground Conference & Retreat Center is located on 264 acres of rolling hills in the beautiful farm country of Southeastern Indiana. The conference and retreat center has modern amenities and conveniences for campers.

“Stroke camp will literally change your life,” said Reith. “There are so many activities and you talk to so many people who have had the same experience. It’s a rarity to talk to somebody who has gone through what you did and can relate to you. At stroke camp you meet people who have that experience and can share ideas and methods to help with everyday tasks. You are able to just talk to someone who understands you.”

Reith has attended stroke camp a couple of times and enjoyed the activities that campers take part in as well as the socialization that comes with the territory. Ziplining has been one of the main highlights for the Lafayette resident.

“Stroke camp is great,” said Reith. “The resources that you can use and the friends you make is amazing. I’ve met so many wonderful people who I keep in touch with from all over Indiana. Every day there is information presented and you learn something new.”

Reith is very grateful to all the volunteers who assist at stroke camp and who have become like family to him.

“Stroke camp volunteers are awesome,” said Reith. “You don’t have to lift finger. They get your bags out of your car and put them in your room. They get your food tray and bring it to you in the cafeteria. The volunteers are the same year after year and that is so nice because they recognize you each year you come back.”

The weekend is designed specifically for survivors and caregivers in a comfortable and informal setting that focuses on education, relaxation, crafts, games, socialization, discussion, pampering and entertainment.

The mission of stroke camp is to improve the quality of life for stroke survivors, caregivers, and their families. Franciscan Stroke Camp is the only stroke camp in Indiana.

The cost of the camp is $175 per person and scholarship opportunities are available through United Stroke Alliance.
