Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.

What this blog is for:

My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

National Stroke Conference INSC 2026 Concludes in Kochi, Highlights Advances in Stroke Care

A complete fucking failure! 'Care' NOT RECOVERY!

Really hope your comeuppance is incredibly difficult when you become the 1 in 4 per WHO that has a stroke! Not recovering 100% is going to be a real bitch since you DID NOTHING when you could have!

National Stroke Conference INSC 2026 Concludes in Kochi, Highlights Advances in Stroke Care

The 19ᵗʰ Annual Conference of the Indian Stroke Association, INSC 2026, concluded successfully at the Grand Hyatt, Kochi, from 13–15 March 2026. The conference brought together leading neurologists, stroke specialists, researchers, and healthcare professionals from India and around the world.

The event created an important platform for experts to exchange knowledge, discuss recent scientific developments, and strengthen stroke care systems across the country.

Stroke: A Growing Public Health Concern

Stroke continues to pose a major public health challenge in India. Recent estimates indicate that the country records nearly 1.8 million new stroke cases every year, making stroke one of the leading causes of death and long-term disability.

Furthermore, global studies suggest that one in four people worldwide may experience a stroke during their lifetime. In India, experts have observed a concerning rise in stroke cases among younger adults. Lifestyle-related risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and smoking significantly contribute to this trend.

As a result, specialists at the conference stressed the urgent need for greater public awareness, early diagnosis, and timely treatment to reduce mortality and disability.

Pre-Conference Workshops Strengthen Clinical Skills

Before the main conference began, organisers conducted a series of pre-conference workshops on 12 March to enhance clinical expertise. These hands-on sessions focused on key areas such as intravenous thrombolysis, interventional stroke therapy, stroke rehabilitation, and neurosonology.

The workshops helped clinicians learn updated techniques and practical skills required for effective stroke management and early intervention.

Scientific Sessions Showcase New Research and Therapies

The main conference, held from 13–15 March, featured keynote lectures, plenary sessions, panel discussions, and interactive scientific presentations. Experts discussed the latest research findings, emerging treatment strategies, and innovations in stroke care(NOT RECOVERY!).

Additionally, the programme included special sessions designed for young stroke neurologists, pediatric neurology specialists, and physicians. These sessions encouraged collaboration, interdisciplinary dialogue, and knowledge sharing among professionals from different specialties.

As per the press release issued by the organisers, the conference aimed to bridge the gap between scientific research and practical clinical application in stroke care(NOT RECOVERY!).

Dignitaries Attend the Conference

Shri Loknath Behera, IPS, Managing Director of Kochi Metro Rail Pvt. Ltd., attended the conference as the Chief Guest.

Dr. P. Sreekumar, Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon and Founder Executive Trustee of Vidyodaya School, Kochi, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.

Organising Committee and Leadership

The organising committee of INSC 2026 was led by Dr. P.N. Sylaja, Organising Chairman, and Dr. V.G. Pradeep Kumar, Organising Secretary.

The Executive Committee of the Indian Stroke Association (ISA) included Dr. P. Vijaya, President, and Dr. Arvind Sharma, Secretary.

Experts Emphasise Bridging Research and Clinical Practice

Dr. P. Vijaya, President of ISA, said that INSC 2026 was carefully designed to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world clinical practice in stroke care(NOT RECOVERY!).

She noted that the rising number of stroke cases in India makes it essential for healthcare professionals to stay updated with the latest treatment protocols, technologies, and evidence-based approaches. Through focused workshops, scientific sessions, and expert discussions, the conference enabled clinicians to gain practical insights into advanced stroke therapies, early intervention strategies, and improved rehabilitation methods.

She added that the ultimate goal is to empower doctors and healthcare teams to deliver faster and more effective treatment, thereby improving survival rates and recovery outcomes for stroke patients across the country.

Strengthening Collaboration in Stroke Care

Dr. Arvind Sharma, Secretary of ISA, emphasised that INSC 2026 provided a valuable platform for neurologists, physicians, researchers, and allied healthcare professionals to exchange knowledge and discuss the evolving landscape of stroke management.

He highlighted that stroke care(NOT RECOVERY!) requires strong collaboration across multiple specialties—from emergency response and acute intervention to rehabilitation and long-term patient support. The conference therefore encouraged discussions on complex clinical cases, emerging research, and innovative treatment approaches.

By fostering collaboration and learning from global experts, he said, the medical community can strengthen stroke care(NOT RECOVERY!) systems, promote early diagnosis and prevention, and improve treatment accessibility for patients across India.

Advancing Stroke Care in India

INSC 2026 attracted hundreds of clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals committed to advancing stroke prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation. Through international collaboration and the sharing of the latest scientific insights, the conference aimed to improve stroke awareness, expand access to treatment, and reduce the growing burden of stroke in India.
