Dr Ferris is concerned that many patients miss the critical neuroplasticity window before their first recovery clinic visit, which reduces the effectiveness of therapies such as constraint-induced movement therapy and prism adaptation for spatial neglect. She therefore urges better ways to connect patients with recovery devices and a standardized system to reliably convey stroke recovery options and principles.
